Keira Sullivan is in pursuit of a mystifying Irish legend that began many years ago with her mother.  Only she has no idea that she is about to unearth a sinister plot that could destroy her.  When Simon Cahill travels to Ireland to rescue her, she stumbles upon the oldest legend of all: love.  She is certain there is more to Simon than he has confessed to, and she wants to learn his secrets, but her body quivers and her thoughts turn lusty whenever he is near.  Will Keira take a chance on the ancient art of love?  Or will a psycho’s sinister plans come to fruition and cause her to lose the only man she has ever fallen in love with?

Simon Cahill is a mysterious man that needs to disappear for a while.  When he was asked to go check on Keira, a young lady he met briefly, he jumps at the chance to see the fairy princess again.   Only Simon was not prepared for the sizzling passion that flares to life whenever Keira is around him.  He knows right now is a bad time to fall in love, but his heart is determined to have Keira and he will do whatever it takes to protect her from a madman’s menacing scheme.  Will Simon win Keira’s heart?  Or will his secrets cause him to walk away broken hearted? 

THE ANGEL is a suspense thriller steeped with treachery, mystery and a tender love story.  Add in magical folklore, fairies and angels and you can not help but to keep reading to see how it all ends.  Carla Neggers pens a tale with vivid imagery and charming characters.  I laughed at the easy bantering and cried when love bloomed beautifully between Simon and Keira.

Keira is a whimsical and sassy young lady.  She is not afraid to live her life the way she wants to.  When she travels to Ireland, it is not only to learn the true secret of a local legend, but to find out what happened to her mother so many years before.  Keira considers Simon to be stubborn, sexy and charming.  She falls head over heels for him.

Simon is dark, mystifying and fascinating.  He has many secrets that must stay hidden even if it means losing the woman he has fallen in love with.  He loves Keira’s quirky ability to meander the countryside looking for ancient folklore. 

The secondary characters are wonderfully vibrant and I loved learning where they all fit into the storyline.
