Nathan Pierce loved his grandfather’s ranch, where he grew up, so he was disappointed when his grandfather left the ranch to Nate’s oldest brother, who couldn’t care less about it. To make matters worse, Nate’s father sold the piece of the ranch that Nate dearly loved to some businessmen who started up a group in town called the Devotees. Nate was the one who actually ran the ranch, but he hadn’t been given any say about the sale. At the time Nate was married, but his wife, dissatisfied with ranch life, went into town and joined the Devotees. Nate had hoped to get his wife away from them. He took some psychology classes and learned how to conduct exit interviews with former cult members, but it was too late for his wife. She disappeared and her body was later found.
Finding the gorgeous woman and her little baby in his barn, Nate had no idea what to do about them. When the local doctor said they could not be moved for a few weeks, he knew they had to stay, but discovering that Susannah was a Devotee upset him. He wanted nothing to do with them. If he had his way, the whole group would be run out of town. After spending a little time with Susannah, he decided to try his exit interview with her…she seemed to be worth it and the baby needed a chance. However, as he spent time with her, she found a place in his heart as he discovered she was not like the other ones in that group. When the Devotees start coming around looking for her and Nate realizes how much danger she is in, he determines that the most important thing in his life is keeping these two females, who mean everything to him, safe. But will they be safe on the ranch, or can he find a way to bring down the Devotees once and for all?
A poignant read, RANCHER’S PERFECT BABY RESCUE, gifted author Linda Conrad’s moving contemporary romantic suspense, will touch your heart, even as it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Nate is surly much of the time, but Susannah’s vulnerability gets to him. She has had a rough life and is afraid to share much of what she has been through. Even though Nate knows she doesn’t trust him with the whole truth about herself, he can see how vulnerable she is. Nate has about all of the problems he can handle, but he can’t turn his back on these two beautiful females. As Susannah helps to mend the family in this page-turning, sensual romance, she finds a home at last. But how long can she stay before the Devotees find her and her baby? Finding myself in laughter at times and in tears at other times, I could not put this book down, not until I discovered how everything would turn out. Do not miss this wonderful novel!
