Dev Malik owns the house where Ruth and Madison stay. Scott has them staying there, and seems to be controlling what Ruth, Dev, and Madison can and can't say to Callie. Dev keeps notes under the false bottom of a desk drawer, to keep his thoughts in order.
Callie is somewhat confused by her sister's behavior. Why is she suddenly so afraid to talk? And why does she seem so clingy the second Callie stops for a visit? Madison can speak but is said to be autistic, and not able to talk. Callie must find a way to connect with her so that she can keep her safe, and find out what is going on. For once, even Puma agrees, and feels she should take Dev and Madison along with them.
There are many mysteries in the house. Why are they not supposed to talk? And Why does Dev keep notes to remember what's going on? Callie's not sure, but she's determined to discover the truth.
PUMA is filled with mysteries to unfold. Ms. Spencer filled me with many emotions--anger, that people could treat other people so deplorably--happiness, that someone had finally shown up to rescue them. Along with love and passion. It was a definite page turner because I was filled with the need to find out if Dev could find love, and if Callie would make amends with her Puma side, and be a better balanced person.
