The inn is on fire, and an apparent arsonist is spotted fleeing the scene.  During the subsequent chase, Sean falls into an abandoned mine shaft, and in the process of rescuing him, Lucy is shocked to find the body of a young woman. As they search for the woman’s identity, they find themselves in the middle of a town-wide cover up and anonymous threats. In a town full of secrets where outsiders aren’t welcome, Sean and Lucy are up against a deadly opponent and don’t know who to trust.

The third Lucy Kincaid FBI thriller by Allison Brennan is as exhilarating as the best action-packed movie. The story line is fast-paced throughout and readers will enjoy this taut tale. As in a great whodunit, I enjoyed meeting all of the town’s people and trying to decipher who was good and who was bad.  Equally satisfying was catching up with the secondary characters from the first two books in the series.  Can’t wait for the next!
