Haylie Monroe is in college and in love. She has finally been able to deal with the dark events of her childhood. Her boyfriend has just slid an engagement ring on her finger and all too quickly her world comes crashing down again. Blake had jokingly bet her as the prize in a dart match, but Haylie found nothing humorous about it. She rips the ring off her finger, throws it at Blake, and never looks back.

Now that they’ve reconnected, dowsing the flames between them would prove hopeless.  Haylie could still indulge in steamy nights, without giving away her heart again or so she thought. Dealing with devilish Blake Sherridan and the havoc he is wreaking on her emotions soon becomes the least of her problems. The monster from her childhood she’d helped to put away seventeen years ago is now out of prison and has come to call on her.

Carl Monroe has plans for his daughter. He is going to make her pay for causing him to spend all those years locked in the state prison.  Now Haylie has to trust her fallen angel and the Hells Belles enough to come clean about her past or she may no longer have a future.

Wendi Darlin delivers a steamy romance and heart-pounding suspense that will only leave you wanting more. She paints a grand story about tightly knit friendships, true love, and healing old wounds. She describes the setting beautifully and in accurate detail, and her selfless hunky hero had me wishing for a devil of my own. DEVIL’S ADVOCATE is a must read and I can’t wait to get my hands on her other HELLS BELLES releases.
