David J. Windsor is the democratic nominee in the 2012 presidential race. The republicans have been in power since 2000 and the country desperately needs a change. It is predicted that David and the democrats will win the election hands down but the republican nominee refuses to go down without a fight and David knows he has to be prepared for anything.

Just six weeks before the general election during their final debate his opponent Speaker of the House Daniel Gorski accuses David of being gay. Instead of denying his sexuality he proudly admits to being a gay American and immediately sets about the task of proving to the American people the he is still the right man to lead the United States.

Much to the shock of the Republican Party the revelation about David’s sexuality only increases his popularity. He goes on to win the election but during his inauguration there is an attempt on his life. If it weren’t for the quick actions of his secret service body guard he would have been assassinated. Agent Shane Thompson is always by his President’s side. As time goes by they grow closer and come to care deeply for one another. However, can their personal relationship survive the strain of public life?

What would happen if the United States elected a gay man as President? CONDOR ONE by John Simpson is a novel based on this very intriguing question. This novel has a captivating plot that kept me on the edge of my seat and I also really enjoyed the look into the daily life of the President of the United States. David and Shane have a hot romance that also felt very realistic to me. I has a lot of fun reading this novel.
