Lucas Horville has chosen to use alcohol and work in an attempt to stifle his confusion over his sexual desires and need to dominate women.
For the most part his avoidance technique has worked but his brothers have organized a sort of intervention and point out that his heavy drinking is affecting the family.
Jubal goes a step further and
hires a detail artist to help with some of Lucas’s workload.
He’s neither pleased nor grateful for their concern and definitely unhappy that the new detail artist is a woman, and he doesn’t need the temptation.
Jessie Sandoval is trying to start her life over again after running from a dangerously obsessive ex-Dom who’s determined that he will not let her go.
She’s done everything she can to escape, including moving and taking up a new job at Horville Paint and Body shop.
From the moment she meets Lucas she is aware there is something special about him that draws her to him but it’s also obvious that he has no intention of unleashing the control he exerts on himself.
Jessie’s aware that Lucas is far from pleased to have her working as a detail artist with him.
He takes his work very seriously but more than that it’s an escape from the inner demons that plague him.
Having her in his space at the one place where he doesn’t have to control his Dominant urges isn’t something he’s prepared to handle.
Jessie embraces her submissiveness and would like nothing more than for Lucas to give in to his Dominant nature without regrets.
It doesn’t take long for her to prove herself a competent detail artist.
She does beautiful work which Lucas is loathe to admit since he won’t be able to fire her now.
Things quickly begin to heat up between Lucas and Jessie but the discovery that her ex-Dom has found her and will apparently do anything to get to her has her terrified.
Lucas’s protective instincts kick in and he’s determined that nothing will happen to HIS woman now that he’s found the one who can match his sexual desires.
It’s going to take wit, stealth, and some help from family, but with any luck Lucas may win the battle for Jessie.
Cheri Valmont has a hit with the whole CAJUN EROTICA series.
The stories are fast paced, full of sexual tension and contain a suspenseful element that will keep readers riveted to the pages.
I loved how comfortable Jessie is with her submissiveness and Lucas’s discomfort over his natural inclination to be dominant.
I love how Ms. Valmont includes the other family members throughout her storylines and can’t help but be a little envious of their closeness.
This is a wonderful story and a fabulous series and I hope to read about more of the family soon - maybe a story for Luke’s sister Carrie and Jessie’s brother Tanner.
There were definitely sparks flying between those two.
