Vesti Miciah d’Vesti is a powerful Council member and as such his responsibilities are monumental.  He chose to allow Komet and Zeraac to keep Ariel, the Earth woman who is his genetic match, which is extremely generous seeing as it could mean that he’ll never have a mate or children.  Miciah deserves happiness and with Ariel’s daughter Kaylee’s help a woman is discovered who is perfect for him, but is he ready for everything that claiming her would entail.

Due to the Hotaling virus that’s been unleashed on Belizair the Fallon people are in danger of becoming extinct.  Scientists discovered that select Earth humans carry the Fallon gene and once these human women are found they are matched with a Vesti and an Amato.  It’s then up to the co-mates to convince their mate to return to Belizair with them.  Miciah’s co-mate will be Iden, which has its own complications.  Miciah is extremely attracted to Iden but such desires are strictly taboo amongst the Vesti.  For Iden, the situation couldn’t be better; he’s never denied his desire for Miciah and to have a female mate as well and the chance of children is surely a blessing.

Zoë Andreadis is the biological sister to Zeraac and Komet’s mate Ariel – though Zoë is unaware that she even has a sister or a niece.  Zoë doesn’t stay in one place very long.  She has psychic abilities that for some reason only seems to connect onto depressing emotions and there’s nothing she can do to help people in their time of grief or need.  Before she gets the chance to leave her friends and caravan off again, Zoë’s treated to a tea leaves reading by a good friend who tells her that her wandering days are about to end – and two men are about to enter her life and change it forever.  Zoë’s been dreaming about two men for the past week, is she prepared for the major changes that will occur in her life once Miciah and Iden step into it?

There’s no denying the sexual need that burns between Zoë, Miciah and Iden.  From the moment they approach her at the Sol Celebration, a sort of Woodstock without the emphasis on drugs and music, Miciah and Iden become an extremely vital part of Zoë’s happiness.  She couldn’t imagine not having either of them in her life, but doesn’t know yet what it would mean to become a permanent part of their lives.  How will she feel about leaving Earth to become Miciah and Iden’s mate on Belizair – and what about her gift?  Will her ‘sight’ be able to help the Belizair people in some way?

The titles that make up Jory Strong’s FALLON MATES series have been treasured reads on my bookshelf so I’m thrilled that this beloved series is still evolving.  ZOE’S GIFT brought out all my emotions – I went from laughter, to tears, felt a sense of helplessness and then an overwhelming happiness for the Fallon people that made me wish I could join them in their time of joy.  There are so many issues in this storyline that each plot twist or revelation brought about a sense of peace or wonder in my mind.  One of the most amazing scenes takes place near the end of the story when the first children born to a Vesti/Amato/Earthling mating are introduced and in that singular moment, as a reader I felt an intense need to celebrate the unexpected gift in these tiny new lives.  Now all that being said, I’m most anxious for more FALLON MATES books because Kaylee, dubbed the ‘small general’ by Miciah, is a character to be reckoned with and she’s already decided she doesn’t like bossy boys – and of course two of them have decided that she belongs to them.
