Undercover DEA agent Stephen Lazos has finally infiltrated the organization run by Antonio Perez.  Not only does he have to hide the fact that he is an agent for the good guys, Stephen also has to keep his werewolf status undercover as well.  When he sees Marisol across the room at one of Antonio Perez’s parties, Stephen realizes that she is his mate.  And she has secrets. 

 

Not only do Marisol and Stephen have to come to grips with their status as mates, they also have to begin to trust each other after only a short time.  I could see the conflict that this would cause these two strong characters – Marisol is just as Alpha as Stephen.  It is the journey they went on with each other that made WORTH THE RISK the steamy and well written novel it is.  Stephen is clearly used to being in charge and having his life planned out for him.  Marisol’s appearance rattles him quite a bit, and I really enjoyed watching him work out his feelings for Marisol.  Marisol, on the other hand, is more like a closed book, and her emotions are kept closer to her heart.  Her solitary goal for the past few years has been revenge; to find her mate when she least expects it is something she has a hard time dealing with. 

 

Raw, gritty, and very very sexy, WORTH THE RISK is excellent.  And, to top of this great read, Ms. Stuart has left teasers at the end to keep the reader enticed and craving more!  Since WORTH THE RISK is the second of a series, I recommend reading the first installment, UNLEASHED TEMPTATION to get the background on the Lazos family.  If this is not an option, no worries. WORTH THE RISK is just as great as a stand-alone and absolutely yummy!
