Jacque LaForge is well aware of the meeting between Gwen and Hector, and he and
his brother are determined to put a stop to it. But when he comes face-to-face
with Gwen, he discovers that not only is she his mate, she is a possible mate
for his brother. Despite the chemistry between them, Jacque knows he will have
to keep her safe because his former pack, led by his father, would see her dead
before allowing Jacque to become involved with a human.
When Gwen awakens all
bruised and battered in Jacques’ bedroom, it does not take long for her to
discover that she is Jacque’s prisoner, no matter how well he treats her.
Still, she cannot deny the connection between them and things quickly turn intimate. She
knows that whereas she will age and die within a few decades at the most, he
can live to be to be much older, so she sees no future with him. But if she
gets the chance, will she run off and leave him, or will she stay by the side
of the werewolf she loves? Can he save them from his dysfunctional family who
wants them both dead?
WOLF AT THE DOOR, the first book of the SALVATION PACK series, author N.J.
Walters spins a clever, passionate paranormal romance that will leave you
longing for more stories of this delectable wolf pack. The well-developed plot
and interesting characters make even the unbelievable seem plausible. I really
like that even the alpha characters have their vulnerable side, at times, and
the camaraderie between the members of the wolf pack is heartwarming. Despite
being a werewolf and a human, Jacques and Gwen are ideal together. The
chemistry between them is explosive and the romance is tender. I cannot wait to
read the next story in this amazing series, WOLF IN HER BED, due out July 2014.
If you are looking for a fantastic story with humor, heat and werewolves, be
sure to pick up a copy of WOLF AT THE DOOR. I highly recommend it!
