Serai of Atlantis has just woken from her magic stasis that she has been under for eleven thousand years. The Emperor gemstone that protects the magic stasis has been stolen and it has allowed Serai to finally awaken. Now she is determined to find the stone before her fellow sisters die. Without the Emperor, much doom could befall Atlantis. Serai is determined to find it and save the women who have also been locked in stasis for so long, losing out on the promise of love and joy. She does not know how to feel with Daniel back in her life though. They have a complicated past but their feelings for each other still shine through despite the hurts they have been dealt. Can these two, locked up in different ways for so long, build a strong future with each other?
VAMPIRE IN ATLANTIS is the newest book in Alyssa Day’s THE WARRIORS OF POSEIDON series. This is a series you definitely want to read in order because the characterization of the various warriors builds throughout each book. This is one of those books where the female character felt just as much a warrior as Daniel. Once she established what was going on around her a bit after her long stasis, Serai took charge and plowed ahead in trying to find the gemstone. She definitely let no grass grow under her feet. Daniel for his part is determined to correct past wrongs between himself and Serai. He will help her as best he can, and in the process, finds his heart longing for her once again. A villain adds to the story by forcing difficult choices that kept me just as enthralled as the main storyline, which doubled my reading enjoyment.
VAMPIRE IN ATLANTIS was indeed a fabulous adventure featuring two characters I really connected with. Daniel and Serai prove that love truly can break all time barriers.
