Belle Jamison is a paranormal investigator readers met in PLAYING WITH FIRE.  She is planning the wedding of her dreams with the man of her dreams, but because of her new powers, some things don’t always happen the way they should.  I mean, after all, she controls the powers of the four elements.  She worries incessantly about Rome when he isn’t with her and for good reason this time – he hasn’t returned her calls nor called her like he has been doing.  Belle is frightened and stressed out and her powers are often uncontrollable – imagine how out of control they become when Rome finally returns from his last assignment and has no idea who Belle is nor does her remember being in love with her.  Devastated but unwilling to give up, Belle once more relies on a list and the man who erased Rome’s memory is at the top. 

TWICE AS HOT is right! Belle is full of supernatural powers and more than once I giggled at her inability to control the element of fire.  From her wedding dress catching on fire to accidentally setting various fires, Belle has one thing on her mind. The love she feels for Rome Masters.  She doesn’t care if he doesn’t remember her or not – he will have no choice but to do so once Belle gets through with him.  She has one obstacle to overcome – Rome’s ex wife, Lexis who is doing her best to convince him that they belong together.  Well, Belle has had enough – they are going down.

I can’t even tell you how many times I laughed out loud while reading this fast-paced, action packed, and ‘hawt’ novel.  Rome Masters, the man who tried to neutralize her powers in PLAYING WITH FIRE is hot with a capital “H”.  The plot twist of his losing his memory made for an interesting and insightful story.  Belle and her control of her powers just tickled me – I adored her ‘lists’.  I loved her loyalty and the love she felt for Rome – even when he didn’t remember her.  She was bound and determined to win the man she loves back – and I had full confidence that she would do just that.

Full of funny accidents, excitement, and love, TWICE AS HOT is a worthy sequel to PLAYING WITH FIRE.  Gena Showalter continues to write and releases novels that keep me on the edge of my seat and craving more!
