Rebecca “Becca” Small, a fencing champion, paid for graduate school by giving fencing lessons.  Now she is finishing her Master’s degree in History by working in the museum.  She can’t help fantasizing about the portrait of Captain James Morrow in the museum, the gorgeous pirate lived three hundred years ago.  The past is the only thing that really stirs her up; it is almost as if she belongs to another time.

Captain James Morrow, born in England in 1684, was a lieutenant in the British Navy during Queen Anne’s War.  Eventually he became a pirate in 1711.  When he received word that his wife Rebecca’s cousin did not want to take her in, he had no choice but to go get her.  After she turned everyone on his ship against her and did nothing but complain, he made the decision to drop her off at his plantation in Barbados without him.  However, he did not tell her.

At the museum, Becca, finally giving into temptation, grips the dagger and suddenly finds herself in the midst of a battle aboard a ship three hundred years in the past.  For her the dagger is a short sword and she is no longer practicing.  She is actually killing men in battle and reacting instinctively.  When she comes face-to-face with the object of her fantasy, Captain James Morrow, he calls her his wife and it seems that their relationship is not the best.  The previous Rebecca has caused his men to mistrust her.  James, bewildered by the sudden change in his wife’s attitude and actions, believes she is trying to gain his trust to get something from him.  Can she repair the damage done by the other Rebecca?  Where is the other Rebecca?  As she uncovers his plot to drop her off in Barbados, she must find a way to change his mind.  Loving him as she does, she cannot bear the thought of being left behind when he boards his ship and returns to the high seas.

TREASURED is a steamy hot, time travel romance.  Readers will find themselves drawn into the story as James and Rebecca discover themselves growing closer as they battle side by side and Rebecca fears suddenly being sent to the future in the same way she was sent to the past.  These two characters seem ideally suited to each other and the secondary characters add appeal to the story.  I recommend TREASURED to those who like time travel romances with plenty of steam.  WARNING:  SEXUALLY EXPLICIT
