Thomas Cattrell Jones leads a very interesting life. He is a cat shape shifter who sometimes has trouble controlling his shifts, especially when he is feeling amorous.  An old scholarly wizard likes to do research in his living room and his best friend may be loyal and completely human but takes some getting used to and he has a tendency to rub people the wrong way.

T.J. insists he doesn’t believe in love but not ten minutes later fate decides to prove him wrong. When gorgeous California beach boy MacGowan Smith bumps into him at the grocery store T.J. is instantly smitten. When he discovers that Macgowen is moving into his building he begins to think that his luck might finally be changing.

That belief doesn’t last long. As he and MacGowan begin getting to know one another things seem to constantly go wrong. To make matters worse T.J. not only is having trouble controlling his shifts but there is something strange going on with MacGowan. He is certainly different than anyone T.J has ever met. T.J. desperately wants to protect his new love but he is afraid he won’t be able to hide his true nature forever.

Willa Okati has written a distinctive take on the shape shifter romance genre. This novel is filled with funny moments and quirky characters. I especially liked Sur Lane. I found myself rooting for MacGowan and T.J. throughout the story. I was sympathetic to T.J. trials and tribulations but I couldn’t help but chuckle at them as well. This novel is a lot of fun. If you are looking for something sweet and light hearted look no further than TOMCAT JONES.
