Ellen Sanders has a weakness for Drakhom men and their passionate nature but she’s not about to commit the ultimate sin and marry again – no matter what.  Been there, done that, got the battle scars to prove it!  A carefree fling is exactly what she desires, only the man she’s interested in is looking for a happily-ever-after and he’s convinced that Ellen would fit that role perfectly.

Drakhom Max Jensen recently bought a condo and goes along with Tanton and Kate’s crafty suggestion that he hire Ellen to decorate it for him.  What he really wants is a wife but their suggestion has merit.  Ellen’s presence and artistic touch on his home will reflect her tastes as well as his own and will allow him to get to know her much better.  Sure, her insistence that she’ll never remarry is a bit of a problem but nothing he can’t overcome - he hopes.

There’s no denying the attraction that exists between Ellen and Max but with their goals and intentions on such different levels becoming lovers would only result in heartache and disappointment – something Ellen isn’t willing to risk.  What she doesn’t expect is for Max to agree to a casual relationship – on her terms.  It’s exactly what she wants so why do things suddenly seem so very complicated?  Since her divorce Ellen’s been able to remain emotionally detached from the men she’s dated but Max has wormed his way past her defenses and she’s desperately afraid she’ll be brokenhearted when it comes time for their liaison to end.  What she doesn’t stop to consider is a true love affair never has to end if you’re brave enough to embrace it with your whole heart.

THE DRAKHOM TABOO series has been an absolute delight to read and I have to admit I’m hoping there will be even more stories to come.  The stories are engrossing and entertaining, the men hunky, and the heroines are easy to relate to and down to earth.  In the third installation to this series, we’re introduced to Ellen and Max who seem to be at odds over the sort of future they desire but as the story continues the reader realizes that’s not quite true.  Through her writing Celia Jade brings these characters to life so that you don’t want the story to end and wish Drakhom men really existed so that you’d have a chance of nabbing one for yourself.

If you haven’t already done so I’d recommend picking up copies of the first two DRAKHOM stories as well.  This story can be read as a stand-alone but I believe it’s more enjoyable with the background information provided in the previous two books.
