Takeshi Shimodo is devastated by the loss of his best friend. He also wishes he could discuss Tom's estate with him as he is unsure of what to do. He is surprised to see Hannah at his door. She claims that Tom is speaking to her and that they need his help to discover why Tom is unable to walk into the light.
At first Takeshi is not sure what to think. He is certain that Hannah is confused or that she and Tom must have had a previous relationship, however, she reveals information that only Tom could have known. Just as he is beginning to believe her Hannah faces a health crisis and Takeshi realizes that it isn't just Tom who needs his help.
I devoured this novel. I found myself reading far into the night and I didn't want to stop. Hannah is a smart and witty heroine. I found the interactions between Hannah and Tom hilarious. I love Takeshi as well. He is gorgeous, patient and kind. He is definitely my dream man and a perfect choice to combat Hannah's cynicism. SHAKING OFF THE DUST by Rhianna Samuels is a well-written and thrilling paranormal romance that made me laugh often and even made me tear up once or twice. I will be reading this book again!
