Duke Stevens knows he is dying and there is nothing he can do about it. Losing his life mate to cancer a couple of years ago set his heart on the path of a slow death. When Samantha Waters walks into the bar as he is having a drink, her scent alone is enough to bring his hidden wolf to the forefront. Now all he has to do is convince her that she is his mate and they belong together. That might take some persuading, because if there is one thing that Sam believes in, it is the fact that loving a person sets you open to be hurt.
SECOND MOON by Lynn Lorenz is a nicely written tale of love’s healing ability. Duke is dying. He knows it and he knows that unless he finds another mate, he will be dead very soon. Knowing that Sam is his second chance to live, Duke tries very hard not to force her to do anything she doesn’t want to do. I am proud of him for that fact alone.
Samantha is a witch, although she does not believe in the supernatural. When Duke tells Sam about his otherworldly status, initially she doesn’t want to believe him. When she is finally given proof, Sam has a big decision to make. Does she love him enough to be with him forever? No one was going to sway her decision and I found myself on pins and needles waiting on her final choice.
SECOND MOON is a tale of second chances and acceptance. Lynn Lorenz has written this book in such a way that I found myself believing that supernatural creatures, werewolves, could actually exist. It is an interesting and enjoyable tale that kept me spellbound and reading for many hours.
