When Amanda Feral finds out that her mom is in the last stages of a terminal illness, her first reaction is to go and help her finish that course. That is, until her friend Gil makes a very important vampire very angry and because of her association with him, ends up chasing Amanda and Gil along with their other friend Wendy. That’s when the three friends decide to go on a road trip to visit Amanda’s dying mother for the last time.
Amanda is the character you love to hate! She’s cruel to everyone who is unlucky enough to cross her path. The thing that you love about her is how she delivers her cruelty. I laughed out loud so many times reading this novel that my stomach hurt and I had to take a break every few minutes. Even though Amanda and Wendy both are zombies and need to eat people to survive, you don’t feel at all sorry for their “dinners”. They only eat people that are society’s rejects and you don’t feel sorry for them for one minute. The footnotes all throughout the novel had me rolling even if they were a bit distracting at times. This wildly funny romp with the dead will keep you up into the wee hours laughing your head off!
