Jack Kennedy does not want to be Red’s bodyguard. First off, he senses that she is his mate – and secondly, he is attracted to her boyfriend Daniel as well. But the most important reason is that if they come together and exchange any type of bodily fluid, Jack’s ailment will turn them. And that is something he doesn’t want to happen. But, as things heat up, it is harder and harder for Jack to control himself around Red and Daniel. The alpha in him is on the prowl and it can smell the arousal of the two people he has sworn to protect.
The plot and premise of RIDING THE WOLF is intriguing and very well thought out. The authors have taken the myth of shape shifting to a different level with Jack Kennedy – especially concerning his feelings towards turning the two people he loves. Red is gutsy and beautiful. She isn’t afraid of her feelings towards Daniel, but her feelings for Jack often leave her confused. Daniel is my favorite even though I know the true alpha of RIDING THE WOLF is Jack. Daniel is accepting of Jack from the get go and it is like his inner spirit knows that Jack will be in charge but will love them forever.
Spicy love scenes, powerful fight scenes, and tender words make up RIDING THE WOLF. Mary Winter and Jessica Quinn have penned a unique wolf tale that I will most definitely read again.
