Bethany remembers walking across the street to catch a bus, two men jumping out of a van, stabbing her with a needle and proceeding to kidnap her. Next thing she knows, she is waking up in a cell with a stranger. It just gets worse from then on when one of her captors begins wearing her down by taking her blood for testing and feeding her just enough to keep her alive. Bethany has no idea who her kidnappers are or what they want from her, but she is desperate to escape. When an opportunity presents itself, she makes a break for it. Unfortunately, she has to leave behind the stranger who became her best friend, Chrissten. Bethany did not want to leave Chrissten behind so she is willing to do anything to help free her from the evil men who held them both hostage. She keeps her promise to Chrissten by getting in touch with Chrissten's twin brother, Quinn. She quickly agrees to help Quinn and his friends in their search for Chrissten. Bethany feels a closeness with Quinn that she has never felt before with anyone. When Quinn experiences a close brush with death, Bethany realizes that she must hold onto him, no matter the cost. |
