I have to say that I found PRIME EVIL to have a very interesting storyline.  Almost a decade ago, Randall Oakes left the hedge-witch, Chance Monroe, for dead. Now Oakes is back along with Chance’s old flame, Jack Parker. The FBI wants Chance in custody to protect her, but she is aware that it won’t be sufficient to guard her from Oakes. Linked to the earth, Chance has to rely on her paranormal senses and her personal intellect to stay alive.

Chance Monroe and Jack Parker make an interesting pair.  At the beginning of PRIME EVIL, Chance and Jack are not together. Jack is seeing another woman, Nancy, who he absolutely adores while Chance lives in an apartment with her cat, Romeo.  I did find it comical that Chance, who is a hedge witch, had a cat.   Because no witch is complete without her cat! However, as the story evolves so does the connection between Chance and Jack. The scenes and characters of this novel were so well- written that I felt like I was apart of the story myself!  Heather Long certainly has written a winner with this novel.  PRIME EVIL is definitely a must read for those readers who like fantasy, crime, and some mystery!
