Jocelynn Drake’s NIGHTWALKER is a phenomenal debut paranormal novel. Drake exhibits a talent far surpassing that of a typical new novelist. Her intricate plot pulls the reader into the heart of the story from the opening lines. The characters inhabiting Drake’s creation are full-bodied and multifaceted with many hidden layers. The layers are slowly exposed over the course of the entire complex novel. Mira appears to be a just another typical beautiful vampire until her compelling personality is revealed. She is a complicated, compelling woman with talents and depths that are merely glimpsed at the beginning. Danaus proves to be a man of strength and determination. These traits often make it difficult to decide whether Danaus is actually friend or foe. The plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat trying to decide what to make of Danaus. Exploding with intrigue, betrayal, danger, and adrenaline-fueled adventure, NIGHTWALKER is a paranormal novel that proves to be a cut above the rest. This is an impressive, invigorating must-read debut novel!
