A JOURNEY TO AVALON is a fun, sexy, action-filled romp of a paranormal romance.
Ms. Hart creates a world that we can be comfortable in, where the paranormal is just part of the scenery.
She adds in some great background about Avalon and the lineage of her witches that makes everything believable.
Her characters are complex and true-to-life and she has some great villains in this piece for her heroes to triumph over.
The pace is quick and the romance heartwarming.
A nice start for this collection of stories!
BAD MOON RISING by Sabrina Luna is the second offering in the collection. Megan is from a family of shifters, able to turn into wolves at any time but still influenced by the moon. Derek is a lone wolf who has come to Heather Grove to hopefully join their pack. But there is a bad moon rising which will influence all the shifters and cause trouble for Derek and Megan. Come see what the moon brings out!
BAD MOON RISING is a pretty uncomplicated paranormal romance, right up until the very end when we have some unexpected action thrown in to spice up the sweet tale.
Ms. Luna creates a wonderful backdrop for her story in the town of Heather Grove; a place where shifters are accepted as normal as long as their abilities do not get too public.
Megan is a typical home town girl who is easy to like and feel familiar with.
Derek is a pretty typical bad boy come to town who falls head-over-heels for the home town girl.
Secondary characters add a bit of family as well as spice to the main story.
This is the quietest story of the bunch; nice, warm and perfect to curl under a blanket with.
SCAREDY KAT by Dahlia Rose is the third offering in this anthology.
Katrina is a hereditary witch unsure of her power and a bit on the shy side.
She casts a spell for true love and is positive it didn't work; right up until a strange man lands in her living room!
Gareth is a wizard from another dimension.
His Earth is involved in a great battle between good and evil, and Kat's spell grabs him just as his enemy is about to kill him.
Can he give Kat the confidence she needs?
Not only to become the witch of power he knows her to be but to gain her help in protecting his world?
SCAREDY KAT is a great little romance with lots of terrific elements.
It has witches, a great battle for good and evil, alternate dimensions and the funniest familiar I have met in a long time!
I loved Ms. Rose's alternate dimensions—our Earth is very technological—Gareth's Earth is very magical.
It was fun watching both lead characters deal with the alternate dimensions in the context of the story.
Kat is a sweet, shy heroine that comes into her own throughout the tale.
Gareth is handsome, mysterious and noble.
The romance itself is pretty typical but the battle for good and evil adds interest to this otherwise sweet story.
And you will love Kat's familiar!
DIRTY DEEDS by Eliza Gayle is the fourth and final story in this collection.
Melody used to be a shy, chunky librarian until she sold her soul for sex appeal and a new body.
She just never figured it would be this hard to be a demon!
She has to use her new-found attractions to steal souls and there is nothing slimier than a soul that is bad enough to send to Hell!
But she didn't count on being attracted to Derek—and honest, she doesn't want his soul, just his body!
DIRTY DEEDS is a kinkier, darker paranormal romance. Terrifically funny plot with an edge of BDSM to the sex scenes that make this the most erotic story in the collection, in my eyes. Melody makes a hilarious demon—she really didn't want to be bad, she just didn't want to be a plain, overweight virgin librarian anymore! Derek, the guy she had the hots for even before becoming a demon, loved Melanie but thought she was too good for him. Whereas Melody is right up his alley! The plot has twists and turns that you won't believe, the demons are funny and the sex is steamy! What more could you want!
