John Matthew is on a mission and will let nothing stop him. Xhex is missing and John Matthew is determined to find her and hurt the person who took her. Nothing will stop him and he is becoming reckless in his anxiety. Even though he knows he can never have a normal relationship with Xhex, he still would rather see her alive.

Xhex is determined to get out of her prison. It is getting harder to find the strength but she perseveres. She will not let Lash win and destroy her. Xhex is strong and she has survived the worst hell can put her through, but will she survive this?

John Matthew and Xhex seem destined for each other but there are many obstacles in their path. The path to true love is never easy of course but for these two, every page seems fraught with danger and heartache. I absolutely ached for what these two had to go through.

The wait for John Matthew’s story was pure torture for this reader but at least I was well rewarded. This is a love story for the ages! Their recovery to a relationship is painful but also so immensely loving. These two are not used to the touchy-feely stuff so it is definitely hard for them to express themselves at times, but they get there. And in the meantime, there are plenty of subplots to keep you interested. There are growing feelings between John Matthew’s best friends, Qhuinn and Blay. Readers get a better peek into Payne’s world, and a new character is introduced. So much going on in LOVER MINE, there is no way you will be able to put this book down. I am always amazed with how JR Ward handles the multiple storylines and she does it again with a vengeance in this book. There are multiple glimpses of the original Black Dagger Brotherhood members which is wonderful. I was not sure what to expect from LOVER MINE but I was completely engrossed in this book from start to finish. Now the long wait begins again. JR Ward, you are a mastermind!
