Cyvampis brothers Rayce and Chayse are determined to save their missing Anom’tan brother by any means necessary. Thanks to the latest clue from Sayvor they now have a positive id on a witness. What they can’t figure out is how they didn’t determine her knowledge the first time they questioned Clarise.
Clarise wasn’t intentionally misleading Rayce and Chayse when she told them she hadn’t seen the attack on Sayvor and Flav – she doesn’t remember the event! Clarise has suffered a psychic rape which has wiped out her memories and left her devoid of a will of her own.
Even though Rayce and Chayse are determined to find out what happened to Flav by any means possible the men know that they can’t exploit this young woman any more than she’s already been. Because Chayce had once been victimized as well he feels a connection with Clarice. Chayse has the ability to help her but when Clarice kisses him all thoughts of his mission fall by the wayside. Fortunately Rayce isn’t so easily distracted even though he’s also attracted to her.
Clarice doesn’t understand why she trusts Rayce and Chayse so thoroughly. How will she react when they begin taking steps to help her regain her memory and sense of will? Rayce and Chayse may be able to help Clarice but they hadn’t expected her to be able to help them as well. They make a wonderful trio but will Clarice be willing to accept them as her lovers – even after learning that they are demons?
WALKING IN MEMORIES is the second story in L. Shannon’s ANOM’TAN series. This story continues on the same storyline from WALKING WITH SYNN so I would definitely recommend reading this series in order. Rayce and Chayse won me over with their determination to do their job and get the information they needed but not at the cost of Clarice’s sanity. There’s something infinitely sweet about the duo that doesn’t detract from their demonic nature. I absolutely love how these characters interact and admire how the author makes their relationship feel somehow ‘normal.’ I never imagined that I’d enjoy this sort of paranormal story so much but this is definitely one genre I won’t overlook in the future.
Checking out all the stories in the ANOM’TAN series, they are – in order:
WALKING WITH SYNN
WALKING IN MEMORIES
WALKING AT SUNDOWN
WALKING DAWN’S EDGE
