Daunuan has always been a slick but successful incubus who gets what he wants, except for one woman.  Although Jezebel is gone, it doesn’t stop him from thinking about her.  Now he has a new assignment set forth by Pan, the Lord of Lust.  If he completes it successfully, he will become the Prince of Lust, second in line to the throne and something he cannot refuse.   However, when his assignment is to seduce and corrupt Virginia Reed, a woman who is supposed to go to Heaven, he begins to wonder if this is a test.  It seems that she looks remarkably like Jezebel.  Can Daunuan focus on his mission without thinking of the past?

HOTTER THAN HELL is the third book in the Hell on Earth series.  Daunuan is a brash incubus who certainly enjoys his job.  After all, seduction and sex is what he does best.  However, when his job brings Virginia into his life, she shows him that sex isn’t always THAT important.  At first she seems uptight and frigid but as I read the book, I began to understand why.  She lost the love of her life and is trying to cope even after all these years.  Daunuan uses all of his powers to his advantage to learn her secrets but along the way, Virginia opens up a piece of his heart.  He learns about love, compassion and forgiveness even if he is too stubborn to admit it.  Yet there is an unexpected twist at the end that was a surprise but made sense in the end.  I loved the secondary characters because of the banter and dialogue.  The best was his conversations with “Feathers.” He knows just how to push her buttons.  Overall, HOTTER THAN HELL is a story that has wry humor and banter that will have Ms. Kessler’s fans eagerly waiting for more
