Morgan Kingsley is an exorcist who is also the host of the demon king, Lugh.  Although they have a rather tenuous symbiotic relationship, she knows that she must protect him at all costs.  If not, she will be dead. However, Morgan and Lugh’s relationship is rather unique.  Morgan has complete control of her body instead of Lugh.  She cannot be completely possessed by him.  When Adam, the Director of Special Forces and one of the banes of Morgan’s existence, decides to find out if Morgan has some genetic trait, he finds out that all is not what it seems in the Kingsley family tree.  As Morgan and her “friends” work to find out the truth, they find that Morgan is being targeted by a sociopathic demon called The Hunter.  Can they keep Morgan alive or will she be killed before discovering the truth?

THE DEVIL YOU KNOW is one of those books that have enough drama and mystery that will keep you at the edge of your seats.  I became deeply engrossed in the whole plotline which was easy enough to follow even though I did not read the first book.  Morgan is knee-deep in deceit and lies but she is trying the best she can to survive.  She doesn’t always make the best choices but she will use anyone or any demon to ensure her survival.  As the only female character, I thought I’d be overwhelmed by all that testosterone but Morgan can certainly hold her own.  She isn’t a damsel in distress but one of those kick ass heroines that can be the hero.  Although she does still have strong feelings for one or two of the men, she soon wonders if she really knows them at all.  It will be interesting if Morgan can find true happiness in all of this chaos.  Even though some of the pieces are slowly taking shape, there is still a lot that remains a mystery behind this demon political power-play.  THE DEVIL YOU KNOW is an exciting and thrilling ride that will have readers eagerly waiting for the next chapter in Morgan Kingsley’s life.
