Maia Frasier is a  former Gineal enforcer, who gave up her magical powers to protect her sister, Ryne. Now she works a nine-to-five job and plays mother hen to her elderly neighbor. She thought she had left that world behind but did she?

Creed Blackwood, is an enforcer sworn to protect humans from demons and their ilks. When he finds himself in Ryne's territory and needing help, he has no choice but to turn to her sister, Maia; as Ryne is currently peeved off at him. Will she help him despite the secrets he keeps?

Maia comes home from work to find an intruder in her house, after a hard day at work, this is the last thing she expects to find. When the intruder turns out to be Creed Blackwood, she wonders why is he there and in need of healing?  She does her best to help him while he is out cold but, she has many questions which only he holds the answers to.

When her sister arrives for a planned night out,  she is not pleased to see Creed and does her best to get Maia to give him the boot, right out of her house. Will Maia do as Ryne wants, or will Creed get a reprieve? Maia knows only one thing for sure, she is attracted to Creed and enjoys looking at him. Will she follow through on this attraction?

IN TWILIGHT’S SHADOW is a fine book. Ms. O'Shea must be proud of her work. This romance had many twists and turns, it kept me enthralled wondering if Maia and Creed would eventually get together. I would highly recommend this book to all paranormal fans. The characters have good depth and definition so they seemed real and not imaginary.
