Aidan has to rescue her brother yet again. Zach has a bad habit of gambling and Aidan saves his butt when he can't save his own. This time she ends up at Liberty Lounge to pay Zach's last installment to the bar owner, Boyd Marsley, who also owns gambling halls. She paid the debt in full and promised Boyd if he ever extends credit to her brother again, she'll see to it his need for pilots would end up costing him more money in the end, if he were able to hire any at all. Not that Marsley cared squat about what Aidan thought she could do, he didn't. And since Warwick the Enforcer waited patiently behind Aidan, her promised threat seemed like child’s play compared to what Warwick's threats meant.

Imagine both Aidan and Marsley's surprise when Warwick wasn't there to visit Marsley, but was looking for Aidan instead. Warwick the Enforcer's visits usually end with a huge lump of pain, and the visits were far from social. Zach must have done it good this time for the Enforcer to be looking for Aidan.
Thankfully Warwick wasn't there to kick anyone's butt, he was there to hire Aidan for a flight, one that Aidan would be a fool to turn down. She needed the money, especially since moments ago she paid Zach's debt.
She took the job, although the details were sketchy at best, and she flew Warwick to Down Neck; to pay a visit to the Blue Moons owner, Mr. Satterwhite. When Warwick didn't make it back to the ship on time she couldn’t leave him there, so she went looking for him. She had no idea she'd end up saving his butt from an awful situation, and breaking the law in the process. Before anything could hit the fan, Aidan got them out of Down Neck safely and back home.
It wasn't long though before another of Zach's debtors, Balton, came calling on Aidan. Money this time wasn’t allowed to pay the debt, too much time had passed. Aidan had two choices. One; to steal an object that had been stolen from Balton. And the other; well, it just made her skin crawl thinking of it. Stealing seemed to be the better choice of the two. Which brings her on the doorstep of Warwick the Enforcer, to call in her favor. What she didn't tell him was she needs to steal from Reed Landrig, Warwick's boss, and she has less than a month to retrieve the item or Zach would be killed.
Does Aidan finally fess up to all of the reasons she needs Warwick's help? Will Warwick understand and help her? Can she return the stolen property to Balton in time, saving Zach from death?
Aidan has secrets, and so does Warwick. If Aidan knew that the one who was blackmailing her was the very same person who killed his parents, and injured Warwick, would she tell him the truth? Do Aidan and Warwick work together and finally get even with those who wronged them?
ICY HEAT is the best futurist novel I have read in a long time. The attraction between Aidan and Warwick envelopes you and you can't help but root for them to let down their scarred hearts and allow things to just happen, even when their minds may tell them otherwise. Aidan is a strong character and can handle her own in a not so understanding world, yet she knows when the time comes, to ask for help. Warwick has had a harder than rough life. He witnessed his parents' murders when he was younger and promised he'd get even with the man who took his family away. He's been working on it ever since. He's always worked solo, never needing or wanting help, that is, until Aidan comes along. His heart is screaming to let her in, but his mind is demanding him not to, yet he can't help but want to be with her again.
You'll find yourself lost in the world Ms. Wyndfield has created in ICY HEAT, and you’ll fall completely in love with Aidan and Warwick. The world is so vivid you'll swear you've been there! The characters grab a hold of you on page one and before you realize, you're reading the last page, and not wanting to say goodbye. If you're looking for a great adventure mixed in with a fantastic love story, please grab a copy of ICY HEAT as soon as possible, you won't be sorry!
