Reece is a wolf shifter whose good looks put Brad Pitt's in the shade. At six feet four inches, he likes his women tall and built like lingerie models. Reece is ready to settle down, but so far hasn't found his mate. At a shifter event he decides to seek out a woman to spend a few nights with. Then fate intervenes and presents him with his mate, a bear shifter ironically nicknamed Teddy. Teddy is not the sort of woman Reece would ever normally be attracted to, she's short and plump. When they meet, Teddy can see the disappointment at her appearance reflected in Reece's horrified facial expression. Teddy is appalled that she has been mated with someone who clearly would never be drawn to her, unless he had no choice. Teddy has her pride and it won't keep her warm at night, but she refuses to have a mate who doesn't accept her as she is.
Reece has a battle on his hands, to get his mate to understand that he loves her curves, and that he's truly sorry he ever had a moment's doubt. Reece has to use all his manly wiles and charm to seduce Teddy into giving him a chance. Teddy has a lot of insecurity, so Reece has to go loaded for bear....
This is a funny sexy book. I loved that Teddy was plus sized, and I found it more realistic and a nice plot twist, that Reece was initially not altogether happy with his chosen mate. Teddy's insecurities aren't all related to her appearance. Her fears are based on real issues and helping her with them made Reece more lovable. This is a great book that I'll read again, and again.
