Sha’ul knows about the horrors Lara has gone through and she is very much afraid of the handsome mage. Sha’ul will try his best to help Lara embrace her magic. But as Sha’ul teaches Lara everything he knows, he longs to teach her in the ways of passion and perhaps even love. Lara is not sure what she feels because of her past and her feelings about sex. Even though she wasn’t raped as a slave, she saw and experienced things no young girl should experience. But Sha’ul has a kind nature and he slowly and tenderly shows her that love between a man and woman can be a beautiful thing.
This teacher and student eventually become lovers and the best of friends, until after seven years Lara is finally called and she must leave Sha’ul with the possibility of never returning. But Sha’ul will not stand idly by and watch his true love fail or perish. He will break the rules and find a way to stand beside Lara and bring her back to stay with him forever.
Magic, passion and destiny makes for an interesting read with HEART OF THE SORCERESS. I felt for Lara the moment she appeared on the page because she is character that has overcome so much. Even though she went through four years of horror, she has survived and with the help of Sha’ul she becomes one very strong woman, which enables her to become a very powerful being. This is one woman who will not go down without a fight. She has so much to live for and that is all due to Sha’ul. This man is supposed to have a reputation that makes people shudder in their boots, but he is such an overall thoughtful person. He loves to the fullest and that happens to be Lara.
Sedonia Guillone can sure write some hot and tender love scenes, especially the very first one between Sha’ul and Lara where she becomes a woman in the elemental sense. Their passion for each other burns bright and I enjoyed how their love for each other was shown by their intimacy. HEART OF THE SORCERESS is one magical romance that should not be missed.
