For over ten years archeologists have been studying the ruins at Majlis al-Jinn. During that time no evidence of any paranormal activity has been found. The Great Unveiling has come and gone and the city’s still a dead site until Pip finds a beautiful lamp and accidentally releases a naked genie. Pip’s had a case of unrequited attraction (or so he thinks) to site supervisor Val Velde for over a year, so it’s hard to resist the gorgeous, naked genie.

Pip doesn’t have a chance to use his three wishes before a group of armed gunmen take over the dig site demanding that Pip turn over Jinn’s lamp. Running for their lives sends Pip, Jinn and Val into the depths of the dead city and through a series of ancient challenges they must solve to survive. It’s a race to get out of the boogie trapped city ahead of the following gunmen, rescue the captive archeologists and figure out their complicated relationship. If they don’t work together, they could all end up dead.

GENIE’S WISH is the second release in Susan Laine’s LIFT THE VEIL series. There are no returning characters, so it can be read as a standalone. If you love action adventure novels, then this fast paced book is for you. It’s a fun and entertaining paranormal M/M/M romance mixed with an Indiana Jones type archeology dig. The author starts with three unique men, each with their own interesting personality. Then she adds in a good amount of sizzling attraction, throws in a healthy dose of myth and legend and rounds everything out with fear and danger, supplied by the armed gunmen. It’s a rollercoaster ride as Pip, Jinn and Val get to know each other, and it’s all done with a smooth but complicated plot, vivid descriptions and plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing.

I loved the part of the book set deep in the city. It’s filled with all kinds of hidden traps and rooms—challenges that could kill if the guys guess wrong. It’s very well done. Don’t be disappointed that as a trio they don’t get a chance to have sizzling hot sex until near the end (remember they were trying to stay alive earlier). It’s worth the wait. Enjoy.
