Skylar has no idea who she really is or why she is being held captive by a madman, determined to make her into someone else, a stranger named Mariah. When Skylar is rescued by a man named Dusty, she immediately recognizes him, thanks to Mariah’s memories, which have been implanted in Skylar’s mind. Mariah had thought of Dusty as a close friend, almost like a brother. But the feelings that Dusty brings out in Skylar are anything but sisterly. Although she has no memory of her past, and no idea of what is to be in her future, Skylar does know that she wants very much to have Dusty here in the present.

When Shadow Walker Dusty Clement finds out that the demon known as Craze has an unknown woman trapped in his mansion, Dusty isn’t about to sit around and do nothing while she suffers. Defying orders from Stephan, the Shadow Walker’s leader, Dusty rushes in to rescue someone he assumes will be a complete stranger. Only the stranger has the same face as Stephan’s fiancée Mariah. Stranger still, she thinks she is Mariah. Dusty knows that something weird is going on, and that it is up to him to discover everything he can about this beautiful woman whom he’s never met, and yet he feels like he’s known forever.
With the assistance of the other Shadow Walkers, Dusty helps Skylar recover some of her own memories. The mystery only deepens though when they realize Craze’s evil scheme involves secrets from both Skylar and Mariah’s past. As Dusty tries to put aside the attraction he feels for Skylar in order to get to the truth, he is also aware in the back of his mind that Stephan may be right, and Skylar just might not be the innocent victim she appears to be.
FORSAKEN TALISMAN is the second novel in the TALISMAN BAY series, and it is every bit as exciting and steamy as the first novel, LOVER’S TALISMAN. The writing duo who make up Ashleigh Raine have created a story rich in passion and suspense, with an intriguing cast of characters and so many twists and turns that the reader is left breathless with each new paragraph. FORSAKEN TALISMAN can certainly be read as a stand alone novel. However, I would recommend starting with LOVER’S TALISMAN in order to fully appreciate Dusty and Skylar’s story.
