As the eldest daughter in a clan of perfumers, Alithia is the only one who can retrieve an ancient relic that is the only hope to save her family’s livelihood.  Not allowed to travel alone, she allows her brother and a Hurrani servant to accompany her.  However, when they reach the Hurrani society, she is told she must take a shield pair as her husbands.  She decides the only way to decide which shield pair is to hold a contest to pick the most suitable pair for her.

As a shield pair, Taith and Phelan have been together for many years.  When they are given the opportunity to vie for Alithia as their wife, they successfully plan together the best way to win her as a mate. 

Once Alithia is theirs, the treacherous journey north begins.  Along the way, they encounter danger in many forms.  One of the biggest obstacles turns out to be within themselves.  Coming from two different cultures, their beliefs and traditions collide and sometimes lead to real danger.  Taith and Phelan want nothing more than to protect Alithia, but she is used to her independence and freedom.  The three must learn to respect and allow the others’ ideas and feelings if they are to be successful in their quest.

FLAMESEEKER was an incredible journey into a new and creative world.  I thoroughly enjoyed losing myself in this strange, but wonderful new world created by Kay Danella.  Fiery hot and erotic, Taith and Phelan were made for Alithia and she was made for them.  Their love was undeniable and very satisfying. I read this book in one sitting; I couldn’t put it down, and since then have found myself reliving it more than once.
