Chicago Times reporter Tess Nielsen is like a bloodhound when she scents a good story and nothing is going to deter her from sinking her teeth into what could possibly be front page news – not even Milan and his blatant sexual appeal.  Common sense tells her that Milan is a committed bachelor and from her past experiences Tess knows she wants more from a sexual relationship than just a fling.  She’s looking for a happily-ever-after, complete with a wedding gown and Milan just doesn’t fit into that picture.  However, there’s nothing wrong with fantasizing about him, now is there?

 

In order to get an interview Tess agrees to dinner with Milan.  She’s determined to keep it strictly business; but Milan proves to be impossible to resist.  He lures her back to his place with the promise of cheesecake and more details for her story.  There she learns just how seductive Milan can be but she also becomes privy to his more personal life thanks to a few pictures of his family.  While Milan is preparing their cheesecake and coffee Tess does a little snooping in his office and finds an interesting file full of notes and pictures regarding a specific vampire clan.  To her surprise Tess recognizes one of the men photographed as a coworker, Simon.  It’d be easy for her to get closer to Simon and find out what exactly is going on with the ‘blood parties’ Milan mentioned.  What she doesn’t expect is to become to the target of a particularly dangerous vampire.  While Tess believes she can handle the problem herself Milan knows better and overrules her decision to remain in her apartment.  He carts her off to his home where he can ensure her safety and get to know her much better – and hopefully even seduce her to his bed.

 

Evie Balos draws readers into the world of dhampirs and vampires with her exciting series DHAMPIR DESIRE.  PRIMAL PASSION is a fast paced action packed story that doesn’t skimp on emotional impact.  Tess and Milan are a fascinating couple because they seem to want different things out of a relationship and yet they’re so perfect for each other that it’s frustrating how she’s able to resist him for so long.  I had to laugh at how determined Tess is to help Milan solve his latest case despite his insistence that she not do so.   PRIMAL PASSION is full of sexually charged tension with an underlying emotional connection that makes this an utterly satisfying read.

 

While it isn’t entirely necessary to have read the first title in the DHAMPIR DESIRE series, THE UNECESSARY BODYGUARD, there are references to characters we met and even a heart touching scene involving Jovan and Nina so you might want to pick up a copy of that book as well.  Besides, who doesn’t love an ultra sexy alpha vampire hunter who’s befuddled by love?
