After touching the edge of Hell and back, literally, Pete Caldecott quits the police force and finds herself in a relationship with mage Jack Winter. Now Jack and Pete have teamed up, combining their talents to work together, investigating paranormal phenomenon. Things have been going as well as expected, considering their line of work, when Jack receives a visit from an old acquaintance, a demon that he has a date with.

Jack Winter has lived a hard life on the unforgiving streets of London, trying to block out the Black. So finding himself in trouble is no big surprise, but what he barters in exchange to escape comes with serious repercussions. Jack made a deal with a demon thirteen years ago as he lay dying in a graveyard. In order to keep his life, he had to pledge to turn over his soul to the demon. He had resigned himself to his fate when the time came, but now that the demon is back to collect on their bargain Jack is not willingly to go without a fight.  In his messed up life, he’s finally found something worth living for, Pete Caldecott.

Fearing for her safety, Jack keeps Pete in the dark about his upcoming expiration date. Jack craftily attempts to make another deal with the demon and slips away to Thailand to try to find away to break his contract. Pete knows Jack has been holding something back from her, regardless of the nonchalant attitude he tries to pull off. After a passionate night, she wakes up only to discover he’s left the country without a good bye. Not willing to let him escape so easily after everything they’ve been through, she goes after him. However, Thailand and the mess Pete and Jack land in aren’t what they expected. Instead of answers, they’ll uncover even more questions while they try to escape the darkness that shrouds them.

DEMON BOUND is a gritty, dark urban fantasy that will grab you from the beginning and won’t let go until the end. The edgy, Goth elements against the grey-black drops of Caitlin Kittredge’s world are entrancing. Her characters are far from fairy tale material, each are seriously flawed and jaded, yet surprising still maintain a sense of humanity. Likewise, the relationship that evolves between Pete and Jack is not without its cracks. In a place where there are more thorns than roses, two people just happen to bond… all while kicking supernatural butts and taking names later.
