Davin's Quest

Callie O’Hara has grown up knowing the truth about her mother and her three fathers. Long ago her parents entered into an agreement with the conquering Alvians in order to be left alone on their farm, so she is well adjusted to the comings and goings of the alien population. This time, however, the alien is different. Though Callie can’t quite put her finger on what sets him apart, she readily acknowledges her attraction.

Davin is a throwback. All emotions have been bred out of the Alvian race but Davin is different. He experiences both feelings and emotions – a trait which is heavily frowned upon. Because of this, unless he finds his Resonance Mate, he is doomed to suffer madness. Though he contrives to keep his secret hidden from his superior officers, a spy gives him away, forcing him to flee. Arriving at O’Hara’s farm, Davin asks for and is granted time to hide out. He comes into contact with Callie, the O’Hara’s oldest daughter. With a nonchalant touch from the lovely Callie, Davin feels the simple caress throughout his body and knows that the unimagined has happened. He has found his mate.

Rick. St. John and his father have hidden out in the mountains since the hated Alvian invasion. In a twist of fate, Rick becomes ill and is too sick to escape capture. Forced to do the bidding of his sadistic and unfeeling captors, Rick plots and plans his escape – Until he comes face to face with the now married Callie O’Hara.

Davin and Rick, however, must come to an understanding. It seems that not only does Callie have one Resonance Mate, but in Rick St. John, she just might have another.

Bianca D’Arc has continued the story of the O’Hara family that she began with HARA’S LEGACY. In a time where women are scarce, some are called upon to be wife to more than one man. Callie has grown up with this type of lifestyle and thinks nothing of the fact that she loves two men. Davin, the alien who first captured her heart is so sweet and thoroughly in love with Callie. His goal is to make her life as happy as he can. If having Rick St. John as her second mate is what Callie needs, then Davin is ready to allow it.  Rick, on the other hand, has more difficulty accepting the fact that he is in love with a married woman, no matter that he has the blessing of her husband. He remembers his father’s stories of earlier times and must put aside everything he has learned in order to be with the woman he loves.

Bianca D’Arc has woven a finely written and ultimately satisfying ménage with DAVIN’S QUEST. I laughed with the characters successes and shed tears at their sadness. Each journey the characters took brought them closer to love and most importantly, romance ruled the day. I can’t wait for the next installment. Bianca D’Arc is my new ‘to watch for’ author!
