DARK RIVAL is the second novel in The Master of Time series. I loved Allie. She is a modern woman who is not about to follow medieval thoughts and ideas even if she is in love with Royce. She is headstrong and eager to fight and not only protect herself but also the innocent. It’s rather difficult for her when Royce is so set in his ways but she can more than hold her own. Royce is a man caught between loving Allie and protecting her. He knows that duty comes first but she can make a grown man forget his vows. When they are together, they are electric. The chemistry is not only palpable but they have sparks that seem to jump out of the pages. The secondary characters are very intriguing because it made me wonder what will happen to them. They just seem to be too important to be left behind. DARK RIVAL is a welcome addition to the paranormal genre and I look forward to the next book in this series.
