Sue was a very lucky woman. As a human mated to a werewolf, she got to enjoy all the fringe benefits of their relationship-enhanced senses, increased abilities, and a constant telepathic connection to her mate. However, things are not quite what they seem, and Sue has been getting sicker and sicker. What is causing her illness? Will her relationship with her mate survive? Will she still be human when her sickness passes?

Tony had led a hard life. First he had been a hit man for the Mafia, but then he became a werewolf, so now he worked for the Sazi. On a routine retrieval mission in the jungle, he realized that his life was about to get interesting. After meeting Ahmed, leader of the snake-shifters, he starts to have visions of Ahmed’s past, including information that could be very important to the future of the Sazi. Add to all that his mate’s sickness that no one can seem to explain, and it all combines to make one huge headache.

What will happen when Tony finds out about his mate’s sickness? Will he be able to do what he must to allow her to get well? What will come of his connection to Ahmed? Will Tony and the rest of his co-workers be able to stop the danger threatening paranormal creatures everywhere?

A fast paced plot, a well drawn set of secondary characters, and exotic settings all combine to make this a very well done and interesting book in the SAZI series. Tony’s character was really funny, you totally can see him as some Mafia person like you would see on tv. I really liked all the action in the book, it really kept the plot moving. All in all, COLD MOOD RISING: A TALE OF THE SAZI was a very good read!
