Shay Coles owns Exotic, a floral boutique specializing in meeting the needs of every customer. From flowers to art, Shay carries it all. Eight months ago, Mikhail started coming in and shopping with her, and since then she can’t get him out of her head or her dreams.

Mikhail is on a mission to recover the missing Immortal Blossom and return it to his home world. He doesn’t have time to deal with this crazy attraction he feels for Shay Coles, even if she is all he could ever want in a woman. She is a complication he can’t afford to indulge in. For now, he’ll have to settle for their nightly encounters in her dreams.

Drawn together against their will, they paths continue to cross and soon they are unable to fight fate. But will they have the time they need to let the love flourish or will they end up wilting in the sun?

This “quickie” is the first in a new series by Taige Crenshaw. It’s a fast-paced read full of hot and sexy encounters. While all of our questions are not answered in this installment, clues are left for us to hold on to as we wait for each new book.

Shay and Mikhail are intriguing and while they do manage to uncover some of the mystery surrounding the Immortal Blossom, we are still left with plenty of suspense. Shay is a plus-size woman, and in a world where a size 8 is the supposed ideal it was refreshing to encounter a heroine I could more readily relate to. Mikhail is sexy and confident and he appreciates Shay and her beauty, as she is never trying to change her or make her something she is not. Together, they manage to steam up the sheets and make the reader like them.

Ms. Crenshaw raises enough questions and leaves you guessing that you can’t help but want to read the next book right away. That along with the heat she pens makes CARNAL AWAKENING a very hot beginning to a promising new series.
