Owen Shaw comes to Leona’s shop in search of a gift for his younger sister Janice, who is going through depression and some problems. She has an affinity for horses so Leona shows him a handbag that was handcrafted by her sister Claire. Owen comes from a long line of Indian shamans so he has some unique gifts of his own. He is drawn to Leona and becomes her lover after he invites her to dinner.
Leona’s family has a curse on them because one of her ancestors had denied someone, he has vowed to get even one day so they now have a psychic vampire after them. Because of this Leona must be careful in her dealings with men. She senses something about Owen but is uncertain what this means besides her obvious attraction to his rugged looks and smoky gray eyes. Could Leona safely have an affair with Owen? What or who is the source of the danger Leona senses? Owen is attracted to Leona on two levels. Owen is currently worried about his sister and the voices she hears. Whenever asked she would always say he said this or that. Just how real are these voices? Would Owen find “he” who seemingly instructs his sister?
FOR HER EYES ONLY is alive with rich and real-life like characters. I could picture something like this actually happening today. I like how Ms. London presents her conclusion story. It certainly aroused my curiosity about the other sisters to the point where I hope to find her other books. I went through many emotions while reading this book much like a roller coaster with its highs and lows. Ms. London will become a repeat offender in my reading repertoire. I will definitely look forward to other books by this author.
