Bound To Me

Mira is a nightwalker, in other words a vampire. She is currently residing with her nightwalker lover, Valerio, in London. She is attending balls, freely drinking from the people attending, going to men's clubs in disguise, and pretty much having a ball. Her time with Valerio is cut short when another nightwalker lets them know that they are wanted by the counsel and that they have a new assignment. To make matters worse, Valerio failed to inform her that her master had ordered her to stay out of London.

Upon their return, they are directly summoned before the counsel. They are told that Valerio's most current assignment will be to stop a powerful man who is slaying many nightwalkers. Valerio requests the aid of Mira, and once permission is given they set out to find the killer. Almost from the beginning, Mira can sense that something is not right. She soon finds herself knee-deep in a situation that she just might not have any control over. Will her and Valerio come away unscathed?! What other secrets about her master will she soon discover?!

BOUND TO ME is set before the DARK DAYS series and in it we get a glimpse of Mira when her romance was just blossoming with Valerio, a nightwalker like her. If you have not read the DARK DAYS series, then I highly recommend reading it first, but it is not by any means necessary unless you want that closer connection to Mira. I was amazed at how different Mira's character is in the beginning. Do not get me wrong, she has been through hell already with her capture and torture by the naturi, but she is still young and a little more carefree in BOUND TO ME. I very much enjoyed this side to her that helped make her the strong independent woman she will later become. BOUND TO ME just made me fall that much more in love with Jocelynn Drake's DARK DAYS series. I am still sad it has ended, but I am looking forward to reading her next series, THE ASYLUM TALES.
