Simon Connor is a werewolf hunter with a plan.  He led a raid against a safe house for psychics, vampires and werewolves and murdered everyone there, even the humans. He captured Rose Sullivan, a werewolf, believing she is the key to his terrible plot. He thought he killed Jason Barnett, Rose's mate, in the slaughter but Jason survived and is determined to rescue Rose and have his revenge on Simon.  Jason's journey of revenge finds him collecting other weres who band together to fight the hunter.  In the process they find out more about Simon than they ever wanted to know.

BLOOD MOON is the second installment of Ms. Wolf's Moon SeriesThe author does recommend reading the books in chronological order and I can certainly understand why.  I did not read the first book, so it took me some time to get the background and all the characters straight before I could really enjoy the tale.  I would classify Blood Moon as an Urban Fantasy Romance; there is much more to the story than strictly romance.  Despite not reading the first installment, the story carried me away. The plot is complex and multi-faceted.  The story is intriguing enough to have you anxiously awaiting the next page.  Each character is rich, multi-dimensional and fascinating.  Simon, the villain, is awesome and you will love to hate him.  Both Rose and Jason are heroic but they are not alone and have a terrific cast of secondary heroes.  This was a great story with a bit of something for everyone—mystery, action, adventure, paranormal and romance.  I truly enjoyed BLOOD MOON and will have to locate the first story and wait for the third!
