Blood Hunt

Logan is a Sanguinar demon who longs to live a normal life.  His race was cursed by the powerful Solarc to feed on blood because their fathers invaded Athanasia and raped their women.  Now they pair specially matched humans in Project Lullaby as a “food source” in hopes of sustaining the Sanguinar long-term before they cease to exist.  When Logan finds one of his couples under attack, he never expects to come within inches of his death when he first meets Hope.  She saves him by inadvertently giving him her blood.  It is powerful and unlike anything he has ever known.  Although he takes her to the ER to recover, Logan knows he must bring her into the Project Lullaby program to bolster his peoples’ chances of survival.  However, Hope has also sparked someone else’s interest.  Krag, a Synestryn lord, also wants her for her mysterious gifts.  As Logan and Hope try to unravel Hope’s gifts, they have to figure out why Krag wants her.

BLOOD HUNT is the next installment in the SENTINEL WARS and takes place only a few weeks after LIVING NIGHTMARE.  Logan is a Saguinar demon who gets a bad rap.  The Theronai keep calling them “blood suckers” and “vampires” but they cannot help what they are.  Blame the child for the father’s deed.  Hope was able to look beyond Logan’s initial act to see a man who put his peoples’ survival above his own happiness.  He continually sacrificed for the greater good no matter what the cost.  Hope has a pure heart but she fought for Logan even when he gave up.  Her stubbornness swayed even the most cynical person which made me smile.  The secondary characters are all back and there are several storylines that are being laid down for future books.  I had several O-M-G and W-T-H moments while I turned the pages.  I also wondered if there may be some pairings that I never even considered.  I must say Ms. Butcher never fails to deliver and BLOOD HUNT is another winner.  I can’t wait for the next installment of the SENTINEL WARS.
