Beautiful Amanda Spencer is haunted by her first husband’s killer while she is being pursued by the powerful, benevolent head of the Dragon Center, William VanHorn.  Amanda doesn’t deny her attraction to William and his black dragon blood magnetism, but her dragon blood is red.  The laws of their planet support procreation for black dragon blood descendants, and that gives William the right to marry and mate Amanda.   Twice married but never pregnant, Amanda convinces William that they will marry only if she becomes pregnant.  As much as they enjoy the challenge, can they produce a baby?

Searching for answers over her husband’s death, Amanda puts herself in harm’s way.  William rescues her.  Why then, would he use his influence to organize a meeting with Amanda and her first husband’s assumed killer?   As the black dragon blood division leader, William fights political unrest.  His obsession over Amanda begins to have consequences.  Will the killer be found and brought to justice or will Amanda be lured away?

Anita Philmar’s BLACK DRAGON’S BLOOD is an intense and humorous battle of wills between William and Amanda.  Amanda is adorably jaded.  The way William demonstrates his devotion toward Amanda left me breathless.  Not only is Anita Philmar a talented author of romantica, she has created a fascinating mystery in BLACK DRAGON’S BLOOD.  I can’t wait to read the second book of the BLACK DRAGON series when it is released.
