The war between light and dark magic has been raging for quite a while. Despite many casualties neither side is gaining ground. Wizard Alain Magnier is prepared to do whatever he has to do to ensure that good magic wins the war against the rebels. He volunteers to meet with the vampires in the hope that they will agree to join the fight and turn the tide of the war once and for all.

Orlando has been sent by the leader of the vampires to present his terms. He is understandably wary of the wizard he has been sent to meet however, he is surprised when Alain readily agrees to help the vampires in their quest to gain equal rights. In order to prove his sincerity he asks the wizard to allow him to drink a few drops of his blood. Neither man realizes that this simple act of trust will change not only their lives but possibly many other lives as well.

ALLIANCE IN BLOOD is the first novel in a new four part series by Ariel Tachna. This is not your typical vampire story. Ms. Tachna has taken a refreshing and fascinating approach. The plot is richly detailed and the reader is immersed in the setting and the characters. Alain and Orlando are captivating heroes who compliment each other well. I loved the connection between them. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
