Katherine ‘Kitty’ Katt Martini, an Alien Superbeing Exterminator, and her hunky husband Jeff, an Alpha Centaurion Commander, are awaiting the birth of their first child. She is past due, and everyone is on tenterhooks since it has been a long time since anyone has given birth to a human/alien hybrid. Already they can tell that the baby has some awesome abilities that astound everyone. Kitty has been relegated to her bed for the remainder of her pregnancy. As a commander also, she still tries to handle things from her bed.

For those who are not familiar with this series, the men of Alpha Centauri are all gorgeous hunks, and Jeff is no exception. They all dress in Armani, and Jeff’s idea of casual dress is to wear his Armani suit without a tie. Another man, Chuck, the CIA Extra-Terrestrial Division Chief, had also asked Kitty to marry him, but she chose Jeff. With his ability to read the feelings of others, Jeff knows that Chuck is still in love with Kitty, and this makes for a bitter rivalry between the two men. Although Kitty has been trying to get Jeff to overcome his jealousy, he is having trouble with it. However, he has been improving…with the exception of Chuck. But not only is Chuck in love with Kitty, he grew up with her and is one of her best friends. As an alien from Alpha Centauri, Jeff is smart, funny and drop dead gorgeous. He also has two hearts which give him hyper speed, superhuman strength and amazing regenerative powers, which are very beneficial for their love life. Additionally, he is the strongest empath on Earth.

Just as Jeff and Kitty should be settling down for the birth of their child, a new threat strikes, one which is targeting those they love. In the midst of trying to get everyone to a safe location, Kitty goes into labor. Her labor proceeds very quickly, but things get very emotional during the labor as they almost lose Kitty. Afterwards, Kitty does not remember almost dying, but she discovers that she now has even more power, making her part alien. However, not long after she gives birth, they discover that the previous hybrid babies did not live to a ripe old age. So they anxiously search for the reason why, even as they are forced to fight an evil that has targeted their loved ones.

Some of the agents have disappeared. Additionally, a new drug is being administered to unwilling victims…a drug which has some strange effects. Jeff’s cousin and partner, Christopher White, is one of its victims. Jeff and Kitty have to find out who is behind the attacks, and why Kitty has had such a transformation. To make matters worse, the evil villains want Jeff and Kitty’s new baby. And they do not have long to find out where the threat is coming from. After all, the long awaited baby shower is soon to occur. Everyone is under shutdown, so they must solve these problems before the baby shower, which Alpha Centaurions always give after the birth of a child. Can they solve these problems before it is too late?

A fun, action-packed read, ALIEN PROLIFERATION, the fourth book in gifted author Gini Koch’s ALIEN series, is a witty, sensual science fiction romance that will grab your attention from the very first page. Jeff and Kitty’s new baby daughter, Jamie-Kat, has some spooky powers, which she exhibited before she even left the womb. I love Jeff and Kitty as a couple. They have a strong bond and are very much in love. Although this story has many laugh-out-loud moments, it also has serious moments. The scene in the labor room may bring you to tears. Some of Jeff’s moments of jealousy are hilarious, such as when he discovers that Chuck is with Kitty in her bedroom, since she is on bed rest, to discuss business. Jeff’s hyper speed ability has him in the bedroom within moments. Conspiracies, a dangerous new drug, a newborn superbaby with astounding abilities, old enemies, hunky aliens in Armani clothing, colorful, complex characters, clever repartee, kick-butt heroes and heroines, steamy situations, thrilling adventures, humor, surprising plot twists and true love all combine to make a phenomenal, well-written story that readers will find hard to put down. ALIEN PROLIFERATION will leave readers longing for an Alpha Centaurian of their own. Not only Kitty, but also several of the A-C females are expecting. New mothers will envy Kitty’s post-birth recovery. I look forward to reading Ms. Koch’s next ALIEN novel, ALIEN DIPLOMACY, due out in April. ALIEN PROLIFERATION is a terrific addition to this amazing series. Do not miss it! Although this novel can be read as a standalone, I would advise also reading the first three books in this series – TOUCHED BY AN ALIEN, ALIEN TANGO and ALIEN IN THE FAMILY - for additional enjoyment.
