Darius Ferguson has no clue how he came to be in this very odd modern day Iowa. The last thing he remembers is mourning the death of his fiancée in 1880 and the next thing he knows he’s transplanted a hundred years into the future in a world full of amazing inventions – and Molly. Oh, there are differences between the woman he buried and the new Molly but to him they are the same woman and he has every intention of convincing her that they belong together forever – even if she’s having trouble believing he’s from the past.
Since Molly first met Darius in the cemetery she assumes he’s a ghost but he then shows up in her new home claiming to be the original owner – and there’s nothing ghostlike about him. After talking to her sister Sarah, who’s reading a time-travel romance, Molly starts to wonder if it’s possible that somehow Darius has traveled through time. It certainly seems to be the case since he acts and feels very real and his mannerisms are extremely old fashioned. Dare Molly dream of a future with Darius when the reality of his possibly disappearing back to 1880 hangs over their heads?
ACROSS THE WINDS OF TIME is an unexpected soul-stirring read that leaves readers believing that nothing can stand in the way of true love – even time itself. Regardless of whether you believe in ghosts, time-travel or other unexplainable events Darius and Molly’s love story is one that will fire your imagination and bring a smile to your face as you read about every aspect of their relationship. Bess McBride really impressed me with the care she takes in making the characters and their situations feel real to her readers. Normally with a novel of this length I find it relatively easy to put the book down to take a break then pick it back up again later but with ACROSS THE WINDS OF TIME I didn’t want to ‘abandon’ the story for any length of time. This is such a magical read that I felt if I did that I’d miss something important or lose the flow of the story. This is definitely a read you won’t want to miss.
