As Prime Legion Commander, Jonah leads angels into battle against the Dark Ones. It is a devastating business, fighting against pure evil and the fight has begun to seep out of Jonah. He has lost too many to the darkness so when his wing is unexpectedly severed during battle, he does not fight the abyss that looms as he tumbles from the sky.

Anna is a lonely mermaid, a legend amongst her people. However, her legend leads her to be shunned and lonely, facing a bleak future. When Anna rescues Jonah from the Dark Ones chasing him in the deep waters of the sea, she knows she has a new mission. Anna can help to protect Jonah and get him to safety. But being around Jonah is reminding Anna of her loneliness and when she joins with Jonah in a ritual healing, Anna feels more connected to him than ever. But Anna cannot have love. She has a destiny to fulfill that will be her downfall. And Jonah is definitely not out of danger. Soon these two are on a quest to heal Jonah’s wing, and his spirit, and maybe, find a way to make their blossoming love take flight.

A MERMAID’S KISS is the kind of gripping story that comes along only once in a while. Joey W. Hill definitely takes paranormal romance to a new edge with her love story of a mermaid shape-shifter and an angel. Jonah is a warrior but he is tired, unsure if he is truly making a difference in the world. Anna has her own concerns, her own destiny to fight. Ms. Hill gives the Little Mermaid mythology a new twist in A MERMAID’S KISS. Anna is a strong character who is fighting for Jonah from the very moment he falls into the sea. She is unafraid to risk her life for him. Jonah has a lot of anger and sadness in him. He sees himself as death in many ways I think, and Anna becomes the key to reawakening his humanity, his soul, and his drive to eradicate evil. As with any Joey W. Hill story, the sensuality and passion pulsates off the pages. A MERMAID’S KISS is probably not for every romance reader, but if you want to take a chance on something new and different, you will be well satisfied with this story.
