Dr. Joe Bascombe has been dating Nicki for some time now. He is crazy about her, but he is not sure about her feelings. Though he is already married, his wife left him four years ago and joined the Peace Corps. Now he is finally about to get his divorce from his long absent wife. He just hopes he has a future with Nicki.
When Lila, a dead woman, appears at the shop, begging Nicki to help her find her daughter before it is too late, Nicki has no choice but to help her. After finding Lila’s daughter in a car accident, Nicki calls for an ambulance. Joe recognizes the victim as his soon-to-be-ex, making Nicki realize that this is her twin and Lila is their mother. In the midst of everything else, Nicki discovers that her twin shares her talent with the dead. In fact, they must work together; Nicki only sees and hears female dead people while Kelly sees and hears males. Lila returns to leave Nicki a final warning. Someone is coming for both of the twins and they must beware. Soon Nicki is arranging a funeral for a mother she never met, taking in a twin she only just found out about, running her business and trying to save her soul as well as her sister’s soul. Before long, Nicki finds herself trying to outwit the devil himself, who has the spirits pitting Nicki, Kelly and Joe against each other. It doesn’t help that Kelly seems disinclined to listen to anything Nicki says to her. Since Kelly has not received the warning from Lila, she is not taking it seriously and finds her new talent enchanting, even going so far as to call up spirits herself, despite the danger. Can Nicki get Kelly to listen to reason before it is too late? It will take trust and a whole lot of love to win this battle.
A MATCH MADE IN HELL is a humorous, yet steamy paranormal romance. This story contains a bit of everything; humor, sizzling romance, thrilling suspense, mystery and plenty of spirits. It is sure to be a favorite with readers of many different genres. The secondary characters add a lot of charm to this novel and I found it hard to lay it down before I finished reading it. This is the first book I have read by Terri Garey, but it will not be the last. I am now a fan and look forward to reading more by this author. A MATCH MADE IN HELL has found a place on my ‘keeper’ shelf.
